Lené contacted me a while ago to collaborate on a shoot – she’s an amazing florist at Crown Floral Design so obviously I immediately agreed to do it. Here’s a few shots from our shoot (video is coming soon..)
No need to find an epic couple, we already got one! Her and Ruan’s look fit the requirements perfectly (ahem, hand tattoos, wild hair and beautiful faces – obviously), plus they had some letters to read to each other so yay for that! She did the floral design, found an amazing bridal dress & makeup artist (Janita Toerien and Marnel Makeup) and they found this awesome suit for Ruan! Herno and I basically just rocked up with our cameras and started shooting, haha.
Literally everything was perfect: the light, the insane Cape Town wind, Lene’s beautiful floral installation, their letters (he gave her a lovely promise ring from Dear Rae) and their epic, real love. The fish and chips we had afterwards was also pretty damn close to perfect!
Lené + Ruan, thanks for inspiring us – you two have such a deep connection, it’s just so special. We are so excited to get to work/create with you two again (Ruan already shot a wedding with us, he’s an awesome cinematographer over at The One Film Co.)!
